Clam Outdoors – New Products 2024

Confetti Drop

Made of tungsten and built on the frame of the drop or the drop XL. Glow dots are what separate this jig and also give it some texture. It’s been a long time coming to get some black jig colors in Clam Pro Tackle and I’m excited about the potential of this particular jig. It is available in 3 sizes and 12 colors and I’m sure you’ll find something that suits your needs.

Clam Live Electronics Accessories

Use one or use them all with your live imaging transducer. If you have an existing pole mount the shuttle is a great accessory. Made of lightweight aluminum, pre wired, and fits a wide range of batteries. It also has some cool features like USB ports, power button, cigarette plug, voltage meter and charging port. I’m looking forward to getting this out on the ice this year but also using it as a portable shuttle for boats. I’ll be combining it with the sonar carry bag (fits a 10 inch screen) to protect my Humminbird units on the ice. There’s a live imaging pole that accepts all brands of live sonar also. I’m going to be getting this on the ice this year. Looking at how it sets up I think I will have an easy way to get it out for cold water fishing in the duck boat this year too. Lastly Clam has a protective cover for live imaging transducers to complete the system.

Deluxe Lithium aerator 2.0

I’ve had great luck with the original lithium aerator. But I can see some improvements on this one already. Probably the biggest one is that it charges with a readily available USB-C charging cord. No worries if you are out of town and misplace the charging cable. It has different pressure settings, battery meter, and up to a 50 hour run time on one charge. Seems like a simple way to keep the minnows alive to me!

Heaters

This is an exciting one! 3 models of heaters as well as accessories like an adapter/hose for a 20lb tank and a fuel filter. There are 3 different sizes of heaters to choose from. The CH-4200 which is the smallest and lightest. Perfect for one man shanties or small spaces. The CH-10000 is going to be the best all around for portability and amount of heat. It also has variable heat so no more just setting it on low or high. You can really dial the heat in to what you need on a particular trip. The CH-16000 will do the same thing but is larger and perfect for big spaces. I know that one is going to be great in my huge X-600 hub. That one accepts two one pound tanks a time or a 20lb tank. The larger 2 heaters also have electronic ignition to make life a little easier.

NIKU Plastics

Clam has been in the plastics game for awhile with the Maki line of plastics. We’re bring a new style with new shapes and colors to the lineup this season. The Niku line of plastics is going to be hand injected which gives them a different look than the Maki lineup. They are also fortified with a freshwater shrimp scent and made in the USA. New shapes will be the switch fly, flutter fly, soldier fly, and bolt minnow.

Psycho Shad

Also new in baits is the psycho shad, which is something that Clam had before but is now bringing back. I’ve never had the chance to fish with one but I can already think of some situations that they might shine. Muskegon Lake walleyes at dusk come to mind. Think of the psycho shad as a lipless crankbait for ice fishing. Vibration, sound, and action to draw in aggressive fish from quite a distance away. I’m looking forward to trying them out this season.

ClamLock Fishtrap/tube Adapter

If you aren’t dabbling the ClamLock system you are missing out. It is a great way to mount accessories in hub shelters and flat surfaces. This year there is a ClamLock adapter that will attach to the tube system in a fish trap. Rails on boats would be another option or the railing on an ATV. I keep finding more and more uses for ClamLock outside of ice fishing and I’m sure this will be no exception.

Predator Rods

Last year Clam launched the Predator tip up. This set up differs from a traditional tip up in that it uses a rod and reel. The rod is kept under tension so it also automatically sets the hook vs just a flag popping up. One of the most confusing things for someone who has never used this style of tip is what rods do I use. Too stiff and the rod might break, too flexible and it might not actually set the hook. Clam took the guesswork out and came out with a series of rods designed for the Predator tip up. Available in a 36” medium and a 42” medium heavy, the 36 inch is what I think I will be using most. I’ve got some ideas for it but I think it might be the perfect trap for bonus ciscos while perch fishing on Muskegon Lake.

Jason Mitchell Meat Stick

One of the most successful and amazing rods in the lineup got an upgrade. Still the same sensitive tip with a backbone to handle big fish but with a new look. Durability was a big reason for the change and these rods should hold up to the abuse. These are my all time favorite deep water perching rod and I’ve caught so many species of fish on them. I’m excited to see how the revamp is.
