One Boat Network

It’s update time for Humminbird users. In the last couple weeks new updates have dropped for Helix, Solix, Targetlock, and MEGA LIVE. There is some really substantial stuff in the Solix updates, less in the Helix, and some improvements to MEGA LIVE. It doesn’t take long to do these updates with an computer and an SD card and it is important to keep up on them. It’s important to remember that you’ll be starting from square one in restoring your settings with a new software version. Winter is a great time to hook the unit up to a battery and get your units set up to your specifications in the house.

Humminbird also released the One Boat Network app to replace the FishSmart app. I haven’t played around with it much yet but one obvious upgrade is that basemap is included in the app. The maps are very basic but it gives you ideas of contours and major pieces of structure in a lake. Dropping waypoints or routes on those maps is super easy. However there is a subscription option that gives you view the new VX maps and really dive into the contours of a lake (24.99 per year). Studying high quality maps has never been easier.

This app is also bringing back update capability from your smartphone to fishfinders and shallow water anchors. No worries if you are on the road and don’t have a computer and SD card at your disposal. It also allows you to request a callback to Humminbird customer service at the touch of a button. Hopefully you never experience issues but when trouble arises it is an easy way to contact with the professionals. Lastly should you have bluetooth Talons or Raptors, they can easily be deployed from the app!

Available for iphones or android and you can find more information from the Humminbird site by clicking here (One Boat Network)
